Chintakayala Ravi Movie Review
Film: Chintakayala Ravi
My Rating: 3.5/5
Banner: Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Productions
Music: Vishal Sekhar
Editing: Sreekar Prasad
Lyrics: Chandrabose
Producer: Nallamalupu Bujji
Screenplay Stoy: Kona Venkat
Direction: Yogesh
Release Date: Oct 2nd, 2008
Cast: Venkatesh, Anushka, Mamata Mohandas, NTR (special appearance), Lakshmi, Prakash Raj (voice), Sayaji Shinde, Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav, Sunil, MS Narayana, Chandra Mohan, Pradeep Sakti, Bharat (child), Ali, Arti Chabria, Venu, Nikita etc
My Review:
Story:
Chintakayala Ravi (Venkatesh) works in a bar in USA and pretends to his sentimental mother (Lakshmi) back in India as if he is working as a software engineer leading a fancy lifestyle in USA. His mother sets up a girl called Lavanya (Mamata Mohandas) as Ravi's match. Lavanya asks her New York buddy Sunita (Anushka) to find out the conduct of Chintakayala Ravi. The rest of the story is all about what happened between Ravi, Lavanya and Sunita.
Performances:
Venkatesh: He did his trademark comedy and sentiment in the film. He is excellent. Anushka: She is nice in the role of the main heroine. Mamata Mohandas: She is good in this film compared to her earlier outings in Telugu film industry. Lakshmi impresses in this film like she did for Murari film. Comedy by Sunil as Pendurti Babu is satisfactory. Child artist Bharat did well in the climax of the film though his character is underdeveloped. Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav and Srinivasa Reddy are adequate as the friends of hero. Arti Chabia did an item song. Ajay did a completely different role convincingly. Ali's character is like an extension of her Nachmi character in Chiruta film. Nikita is very cute with her own dubbing. Venu did a vital yet small role. NTR sizzles in 'Shava Shava' song and entertains the crowds. Prakash Raj gave voiceover to this film in the initial scenes and in the climax and his narration is an asset.
Technical Side:
Story of the movie is nice and predictable. But the backdrop of USA offers some variety. Direction by Yogesh is partly OK. He could able to introduce and establish all primary characters well. But he could not run the story with interesting narration in the middle of the film. But he manages the climax decently. He handles some of the humor scenes well. However there are a few inspired comedy scenes like exam scene (Mr. Bean series), kitikilu 2008 (windows 2008 Telugu version forward mail) etc. There is some toilet humor too. Narration of the film is slow.
Other Sides Of The Movie:
Music by Vishal Sekhar is an asset to the film. Bagunde Bagunde followed by Enduko is the best on the screen. Mani Sharma scored background music. Dialogues by Kona Venkat are good. A couple of dialogues like 'akkada (USA) sanduko vanda software engineers vuntaru' and 'aavida data whorehousing (data warehousing) lo work chestundi' are entertaining in the first half. Cinematography by Ravindra Babu is good. He shot the USA part very well. The visuals are rich. Nallamapulu Bujji should be appreciated for spending good money on budget to make a film with rich visuals and sound by hiring the best of technicians and cast for the job.
Final Analysis:
Movie was good. First half an hour of the film is pretty good. It slows slow down after that and the film takes up again from the last song. The strong points of the film are Venkatesh and mother sentiment. On the other side, the latter part of the first half and the former part of the second half should have been made in an interesting way. The mother sentiment and the marriage ambiance towards the climax could attract the Venky's strong base of family crowds. On a whole, Chintakayala Ravi is an ok film if you can excuse bit of screenplay glitches in the middle of the movie.
Big Hero's White Beard Worries
Age is something that no man in this world can overcome and the superstars who come up with impossible feats on the screen are no exception to it. One such concern that has now gripped one of the senior stars of the industry is none other than Victory Venkatesh.
Apparently, there is news that Venky has been getting white beard and that is but natural given his age. He is 48 now. However, the star is not too pleased about it and is trying to look at ways and means to keep it out of bay. Shaving everyday may not be a good idea after all since that would have not made much of a difference.
Folks close to him are advising him to come up with a natural beard and an equally relevant.
character and perhaps make the audience get used to his new look just like he usually does. For now, Venky is worried about it and given his street smart thinking, he will surely come up with a solution for it. He appeared with a dyed beard in a TV interview but caught odd in the eyes of viewers.
From Poultry To Pawan Kalyan's Producer
You might have heard of real estate people getting into films or industrialists, politicians trying their hand at producing films but here is one guy who hails from the background of a poultry and today he is a producer who is coming up with a movie that will be having the most powerful star in the lead.
His name is Ganesh Babu and he has often been seen in side roles and comedy roles in many movies. It is heard that he has made a lot of money through his hatchery business and later on he also moved to the land business. It was through both of these that he went up to the tunes of crores and now he has become capable of producing a film.
Now, here is the interesting part, he has announced a venture that will be having Power Star Pawan Kalyan in the lead and it is heard that the production knowledge Ganesh has and the other tricks of the trade he learnt during his apprenticeship with Rasi movies Narasimha Rao, Pawan is impressed and has given his nod.

Sexy Aditi Sharma
The recent release 'Gunde Jhallumandi' starring Uday Kiran and the Bollywood beauty Aditi Sharma was not that great a success but then it managed to save face with some average to fairly okay collections. While some part of the credit goes to director Madan, the major part of it has been going to the heroine Aditi Sharma.
Interestingly, she is being termed as a sexy girl and while the truth is there is not that great a sex appeal in her when compared to the other starlets that we have around, Aditi seems to have got some labels that may not stick with her appearance after all.
In this process, the man who has been craving for a success is unable to say much since the credits have been taken by his leading lady. We are talking about Uday Kiran who was desperate for a good result and though it has happened to an extent, the entire credit has gone to Aditi. Folks attribute it to the kind of word of mouth and then the eventual sexy stills that the girl posed for that went in her favor.
Ravi Teja's Brother Created Nuisance
Ravi Teja's brother Raghu is known for acting in B-Grade films. Freshly a complaint was filed on him in Jubilee Hills Police Station by the management of Food World. The Food World personnel said that drunken Raghu created big nuisance in the Food World and also roughed up the security guard who tried to control him. The incident happened on the night of Tuesday as mentioned by the Food World management in their written complaint to the police. We have to see how this issue will be settled. Sources say that an outside the court settlement is possible.
Red Wine Beauty Raves with Hot Looks
She is smart, suave, tall and confident and has got the most intoxicating pair of eyes that will fill your system with the power of red wine. The only name that comes to mind when we think of pure delight, she is none other than Parvati Melton and folks are yet to recover from the major holocaust she created with her oomph and style in the film 'Jalsa'.
Now, Parvati is standing on a litmus paper as she has got the most awaited opportunity of her life. The angel of beauty is all set to pair up with none other than 'Prince' Mahesh Babu for his forthcoming venture and this is being ably handled by the experienced and highly talented Trivikram Srinivas.
Speaking about it, Paro said that she has been working hard to get her best looks for the film and for this, she has been doing a lot of yoga and has been visiting the spas for a longer time. The truth remains that Parvati's natural beauty is good enough to make millions drool so with this special effort, yet another Tsunami of beauty is coming to strike you, so beware folks!!!

News Reader's Nude MMS
The regular scandals of actresses, college girls and their nude pictures or scenes through MMS or internet is quite common but then the news that a person from the media is actually involved in a steamy scene and the MMS is making rounds must be quite an attention grabbing thing.
There is news that a hot MMS is currently making rounds all over and the clip contains a news reader of a prominent news channel. The man in scene is said to be a stout one and though some say he is a well known person no confirmation on that end.
However, there are those who also say that all this is just the product of some morphing geek and there is no element of truth in it. Truth or not, the MMS has become the hottest rage and the news reader has already quite a beautiful lady in the eyes of the viewers.

Anushka And Gopichand Become Cooks
Just when folks were trying to figure out what exactly is the situation between emotional hero Gopichand and the voluptuous beauty Anushka, here is something that might just raise their brows. It is heard that soon the duo will be seen together in the small screen for a special program.
The program is titled 'Maa oori vanta' and this will be telecast on the popular ZEE Telugu channel. Both Gopi and Anushka will be seen coming together as cooks and would be preparing some delicacy for the audience's knowledge and understanding. While the talk is they are appearing as part of a publicity gesture towards their ongoing movie 'Souryam', here is another side to it.
The sparks between the duo is said to be on a high these days and there are those who say that the program must be titled 'Maa inti vanta'. Reliable sources also claim that both Gopi and Anushka are also planning to get a home together and it sure looks like they are heading towards a direction.

Mummy III: A Ghastly Resurrection
Rating: Average
Many a great trilogy have been hampered by weak, disjointed third instalments: The Godfather, Back to the Future and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End immediately come to mind. The same proves true for Mummy III: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. But, the thing is, the Mummy, despite its commercial success, was never a good series to begin with.
Mummy III is an unsatisfying extension of a trite, big budget Hollywood Frankenstein, a monster that now seems to have life of its own. Fans of the first two will likely enjoy it. But if you found the first two instalments obnoxious, beware. Tomb of the Dragon Emperor has all the imperfections of previous efforts, but with an even less interesting and feasible storyline.
The film fails to engross, even as core characters teeter on the brink of death, because the end result and the means it takes to get there are so utterly transparent. Rife with self-sacrifice from the good guys and replete with indiscriminate slaughter from the baddies, even for a summer blockbuster, it sinks under the weight of its own clichs.
At the centre of the story is an entirely unbelievable age progression: Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) is no longer the young, dashing explorer; he's settled down and married to Evelyn (Maria Bello), and their son Alex (Luke Ford) is now 18 years old and all grown up. The couple has retired from the high stakes hijinks and find themselves bored. They desperately want to leave their life of English estates and library archives, and secretly yearn for the old days of action and adventure, though they dare not admit it to one another or even to themselves.
Their son, Alex, supposedly off at college, has too been bitten by the adventure bug, and sets off in China to carry on his father's legacy. The precocious youngster engineers the discovery of Han's (Jet Li) tomb, the infamous Chinese Dragon Emperor, who ruled the land with an iron fist over two millennia ago. It's the most important archaeological finding since the discovery of King Tut's tomb. Of course, Alex does this unbeknownst to his parents, who give him a stern lecturing when they found out what exactly Junior has been up to.
It turns out that Alex isn't the only one interested in Han's tomb. Others want it, but for far less innocuous reasons than for vainglory and posterity's sake.
A group of Chinese militants seek The Dragon Emperor's return, and they covet the order and military might a resurrected and immortal Han would bring. A chain of events is set in motion that sees the Emperor come back to life. Should he reach Shangri La and achieve his immortality, the whole world will fall under his tyrannical reign, at the mercy of his indestructible terracota army.
It turns out, however, that while the Emperor was alive, he angered a lot of people off, mainly by ruthlessly cutting down anyone he perceived as an enemy. Two such eternal enemies are Lin (Isabella Leong) and her sorceress mother (Michelle Yeoh [Images]). Lin also plays young Alex's love interest.
There are several plot twists, turns and betrayals, but they seem hastily inserted, and in hindsight, don't even make much sense. These are the hallmarks of recent Stephen Sommers' films (Deep Rising, Van Helsing), and though he's relinquished directorial duties to Rob Cohen, his fingerprints as a producer are everywhere. And Cohen's input is nothing to write home about either; at times, the film seems like a 1940's version of The Fast And The Furious.
The frequent battle scenes are, of course, full of outrageous odds and pithy one-liners. Really, the special effects are a saving grace. But how many fireballs, hideous beasts and half-baked Kung Fu moves can a single movie handle? We get all of these in spades, to the point of monotony.
Frankly, Fraser is at his best in the beginning, when he's bored and unemployed. He's aloof, sarcastic and gives off the perfect 'been there, done that' vibe. But his humour seems ill-timed during the continuous life and death scenarios that follow. Furthermore, he's unbelievable as a battle-wearied father, and this is a step down from his first two efforts under the Mummy banner. In fact, despite Fraser's 39 years, the role of Alex would have been infinitely more suitable. Fraser and Ford seem more like college buddies than father and son, with their constant oneupsmanship and good-natured ribbing. The whole "You never loved me as a child!" and "Sorry, I was saving the world!" arguments between father and son are just laughable.
Only Bello is able to sell the family-on-the-rocks angle, and she's actually quite good throughout, one of the film's few redeeming points. Certainly, she's an improvement over Rachel Weisz [Images], who spurned a third attempt at the character.
Leong is fine as Lin, but she's given limited scope to perform. Her character follows a predictable arc, from immortal defender of humanity to just plain human. The love story is comically cliched and underdeveloped, with only Lin's immortality preventing a fruitful relationship with Alex. When he angrily tells her, "It will never work. You guard tombs. I raid them," it's hard to stifle a laugh.
Yeoh turns in a fine performance as Lin's sorceress mother, and manages to inject some sorely needed 'honour' and 'justice' into the storyline.
Evelyn's brother Jonathon (John Hanna) is along for the ride, though strictly as comedic relief.
Jet Li serves no discernable purpose, as Han is primarily rendered by CGI graphics. He does, at least, manage a suitably ferocious countenance. And, of course, he cameos for a few half-hearted hand-to-hand combat scenes. But, really, how much Kung Fu can you expect from Brendan Fraser?
In addition, there are yetis (yes, yetis), shape-shifting creatures and armies of the undead. But it's too much, too often, with too little reason. The second half of the film is an extended, excruciating, underwhelming climax, with the result never really in doubt.
The settings are impressive, from the rugged Chinese countryside to the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. But it's Shanghai in the 1940's that is most charming and best portrayed. Sadly, Shanghai is given precious little screen time, and much of it is devoted to a ridiculous, protracted chase scene. At least, the Chinese firecrackers provide a feast for the eyes.
So what are we left with? A blow 'em up action adventure complete with requisite familial troubles and a slipshod love story. In a way, it does remind of Indiana Jones, but Fraser is clearly not Harrison Ford and Cohen is clearly not Lucas. With a full trilogy plus a spin-off (The Scorpion King), this cow has been milked dry. But additional films are already in the works, and it seems the real curse of the Mummy series may be bi-annual mediocre releases.
If you're looking to while away two hours, by all means, go ahead. To be fair, there are some moments of genuine humour and riveting action, they just prove few and far, far between. It's just sad that the visual treats come at the expense of a coherent and compelling plot.

Heroine's Tattoo In Secret Place
Bollywood heroine Deepika Padukone had a tattoo on her neck and her hair is covering that. Not many can notice her tattoo due to that.
But there is a tattoo there with letters 'RK'. And that stands for Ranbir Kapoor anyway. It has to be seen if Ranbir Kapoor has got the letters DP tattooed somewhere inside his pants or shirt.
Well, Deepika has chosen a right secret place to hide her tattoo. Sexologists say that 'neck' part is a stimulating zone for women!!!!! Deepika must be feeling that RK is on her neck tickling and titillating.
Black Tickets Home Delivery At Rs 1000
With the arrival date of the most talked about and much hyped movie 'Kuselan' at the door, those who want to cash in on the craze and popularity have already started working their ways out. The first target is the tickets and black market agents are already on the job of procuring the tickets and make a fortune out of it.
It is heard that the 'Kuselan' tickets sale is very vigorous and some black marketing agents have come up with a new concept of doing door delivery at Rs 1000 in Chennai as per reports. This is not new for someone who knows the impact of Rajini films when they hit the screens and the mania that is caused for the first few days.
The question is whether the film can live up to the expectations of the audience and the hype that has been created. It sure looks like the role of Mamta Mohandas is going to be a bit of surprise in this and Jagapathi Babu's promos (in Tamil it is Pasupathy) have also been kept out of the media glare.

Sneha Looks Hot With Dasari Hero
The image change syndrome and experimenting with the image phenomena has become a very common feature in the industry these days but then the truth remains that not all can actually fit up to all the bills though they are keen to prove their versatility in their appearances. One such starlet who has been trying hard to get a breakthrough in this is the sensuous beauty Sneha.
She is all set to appear in the new film 'Adivishnu' and folks who have been watching the proceedings of the film say that she is looking hot with hero Dasari Arunkumar. It is known news that Sneha tried so in her recent release 'Pardhu' with Lawrence but things didn't work. Now she is repeating the same act and that too with Arun Kumar whose career is almost on the final stages.
It will be a gamble of sorts for Sneha for opting to such roles since she has a registered image as the perfect domestic woman that many Indian women like. So it will be interesting to see if she can actually pull out any wild cards from her pocket and show her steamier side which might work in favor of Arun too.
Venkatesh After Krish's Film
The successful hero Venkatesh who is aptly titled 'Victory' Venkatesh has been one star who has been the best bet for many film makers since his movies always give the minimum guarantee and in almost 99% cases they have ended up becoming hits and blockbusters too.
On the other hand, Venky makes sure that his ventures have enough quality and commercial aspects in them so that the producers are not at loss working with him and there is a special interest he is said to take in the script and the story.
It is known news that Venky is currently planning to do a film with the young and talented director Krish who is barely a film old. After that, Venkatesh is planning to work with Srinu Vaitla who has been ruling the roost with his recent super hit 'Ready'. However when will that happen remains to be seen since there is news that Vaitla has been heavily booked by other top stars and especially the Chiru family.

Zero-Size Mania For Hot TV News Readers
Talking about actresses and their beauty tips, the ultimate goal is the size zero figure which has been dogging them since a while giving them the feeling of ultimate triumph irrespective of how it looks on them and the implications that it might have on their health and other aspects.
Now, the mania has spread from the actresses to the anchors and from there to the newsreaders too. This might be a bit shocking but then it is heard that the newsreaders want to look their sexy best while reading out news while all that the viewers can see is their face.
The first victim of that is Pragathi who has been a natural beauty on small screen and now she has lost all her charm after becoming slimmer. Ironically, even other news readers are also assuming that looking zero size is the right sex appeal and trying that way in an unhealthy fashion. It is about time they realize their professional jurisdictions and the real need factor before they want to go for it.

Heroine Looking With Heavy Assets?
The beauty of a woman lies not just in her eyes but also in her assets and that is the funda of the film makers when it comes to the actress. While many of them resort to uplifts, size zero figures and other things, some of them are naturally beautiful with the right proportion of assets and good share of looks.
Now one actress who has been catching the eye of many with her significant assets is none other than the buxom beauty Sangeetha. Off late, Sangeetha is appearing with bigger bosom these days and this is the version given by those who have seen her lately. Why is that so? Is there a possibility that she has got some uplifting therapies done?
Well, her fans want her to be the natural beauty that she is and if she is endowed with her natural assets then it is really a delightful feeling else the thought that something artificial has been done spoils the romantic imagination of her followers. Hope we know the truth soon Sangeetha!!!
No Talks Between Sallu and Katrina!
Katrina Kaif seems to have had enough of beau Salman Khan’s erratic behaviour.
After rumours of an impending split, which had been doing the rounds for a long time, Kat has finally put her foot down and looks ready to cut off personal as well as professional ties with Sallu. She has decided not to work with Salman anymore.
If sources are to be believed, Subhash Ghai’s upcoming film Yuvraaj will be her last film with Salman. Yesterday, she shot with Salman for Yuvraaj but without exchanging a single word with him on the sets.
An eyewitness from the sets says that she has even been going around telling people that she will not work with Salman anymore. “After every shot, Katrina and Salman stormed off into their respective vanity vans and did not interact with each other at all,” adds an eyewitness from the film’s sets. So what led to the final rift? Our source says, “After Katrina’s recent birthday bash ended on an ugly note with Salman and SRK nearly coming to blows, Kat asked Sallu to apologise to SRK since he was the host of the party and it was rude of him to have behaved in an unruly manner. She also told Salman that whosoever’s fault it was, he should have tackled the situation calmly.”
Hot Baby Priyamani To Wear Bikini?
The Bikini culture is spreading faster than the speed of light itself and more and more stars who were shying to show their assets on screen are now plunging into the two piece drive which will give an X-ray of their figure and sex appeal. It started with Bollywood and now it is showing its presence in Tollywood too.
It is now heard that the talented actress Priyamani who recently revealed that Malayalam is the place where she can project her real talents of acting might well be jumping into the bandwagon of the bikini. Speaking about it, the pretty girl says that sporting hot pants, midis and short skirts is a walk in the park for her but to wear a bikini she just needs to bump off few extra places of flab.
While she has not said no to the idea, it could well be that when Priyamani hits the gym rigorously then it is a signal that this buxom beauty will soon be taking us in a storm revealing her true self in a bikini. For the audience, it will be a real worthy treat to see this Malayalam babe baring it all.

Priyamani: ‘Yes, I’ve hiked my price’
Industry is rife with rumours that Priya Mani, who recently bagged the National and Filmfare awards for Paruthi Veeran, has hiked her remuneration to Rs 40 lakh. The buzz is that it’s because she’s doing a Mani Ratnam film.
“Yes, I’ve hiked my price but it’s not because I’m doing a particular film. It’s just that you can’t keep working for the same amount all through your career. And it’s only natural to up your remuneration if your movies do really well and you become a known face in the industry. I can’t quote how much I charge or give you an approximate amount for my salary. But how I wish Rs 40 lakh was true!” laughs Priya Mani.
Mani Rathnam Film
She’s excited about doing a Mani Ratnam film. “It’s a bilingual and I’m doing the Tamil version. There’s also Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Prithviraj in it. I’ve just signed the agreement and am waiting for Mani sir to make an official announcement,” she tells us.
Critics
And while the actress is thrilled about winning two prestigious awards, Tamil director Cheran has reportedly made unsavoury remarks about her — that Priya Mani didn’t deserve to win the National award. Is it because she didn’t agree to do his film? “I don’t think so. I’m sure he didn’t say that. Even if he did, it’s his personal opinion. I can’t sit him down and tell him to change it,” says the actress, dismissively.
Ali's Six Pack Body Brings Shock
The six pack mania is on and with many heroes taking to the gym and strict diets the dream figure of six pack has become the final destination for many. Some stars have gone further and ended up with an eight pack on their abs. With all this happening, the comedians have taken up their own path of coming up with six packs.
Prominent among them is Ali whose mere presence on screen generates enough laughter to entertain the audience. Now, he is all set to shock the Telugu film industry with his form of six pack abs in the upcoming film 'Salute' which stars Vishal and the hot beauty Nayantara in the lead roles.
The fun part is, Ali will be seen donning a rubber costume of six pack suit and this will be happening in a song and perhaps one or two sequences too. While hero Vishal is ready with his share of real six-pack, Ali is ready to give competition to Vishal with his rubber six-pack. Good luck for that Ali!!!

Music: G V Prakash Kumar

Released On:1st Aug 2008
There is a dialogue by Super Star in this film: "Janam cinema bagunteney choosathaaru. Lekapothey ee Super Star natinchinaa choodaru". Let us see if those 'janam' come to this film or not.
Story:
It is the story of two friends Barber Balu (Jagapathi Babu) and Super Star Ashok Kumar (Rajni Kanth). Barber Balu is very pious at heart, sincere at work and never dreams high. He lives with his wife Sridevi (Meena) and three children.
The villagers are cold towards Balu and his family as they believe that he is misfit to make good earnings. Another barber (Sunil) plays smart and earns big using some gimmicks.
Once, Super Star Ashok Kumar happens to come to that village, Sirisilla for shooting. Entire village gets carried away by the aura of Super Star. Knowing that Balu is the childhood friend of Ashok Kumar entire village comes to him to take them to Super Star for photographs. Even Balu's children and wife ask him to take to Ashok Kumar. But Balu fears that Super Star may not recognize him after 3 decades of friendship. Finally, what happens? Can Balu meet Super Star? That gets unleashed at the grand finale.
Performances:
Rajni Kanth is the sole attractor in this movie. The film got huge crowds at box office for the element of 'Rajni' in it and there is no dispute in that. Rajni Kanth's speech recalling his childhood in a school function in the last 15 minutes moves many audiences. That stands out to be the highlight in entire movie.
Jagapathi Babu is ok in his role. There is nothing special with respect to slang or diction but acted in his routine style.
Meena, after a long time appeared on screen and still with enough of spark and lush. Nayantara is ok for glamour show. No one knows why Mamatha Mohandas agreed to do that most unimportant role.
Others are just ok. Ali, Sunil and Dharmavarapu are used for spilling laughs but they couldn't do up to their standards. Brahmanandam's role is mere waste. Any small time artiste would have been ok for that. Prabhu acted as security cop to Rajni Kanth.
Songs were shot in rich manner but the music is very pale. Dialogues are weak. No punch in comedy and no depth in sentiment are seen.
Direction is amateur in many facets. Some ups and downs in P Vasu's direction:
Once it is told 'Kucheludu' is the shooting going on and in other scene it was said that it is the shooting of 'Chandramukhi-Part 2'
Vasu failed to utilize the key scenes for bringing in depth. He failed to record the reaction in the faces of Barber Balu and Super Star Ashok Kumar when the son of the former says that his name is 'Ashok Kumar'.
People don't understand why Balu is not called on to the stage either by organizers of the school function or local people there, when Super Star Rajni Kanth says about him and sheds tears.
Why Jagapathi Babu sheds tears while calling to guest-house where Super Star stays? That is another connectivity problem in screenplay.
It's only Cinematography and Art Director's jobs are marvelous in totality.
Plus Points:
Rajni Kanth's presence
Cinematography
Art Direction
Drawbacks:
No proper comedy
Many boring sequences
Misplacement of songs
Weak music
Pale dialogues
No depth in narration
Analysis:
Entire movie is about a barber meeting 'Super Star'. But that scene was not showcased well. Necessary depth hasn't worked out in that old friends' reunion scene. And the purpose of entire film is only meeting the Star. But what the Star has in return did to that barber-friend? What the Star did to that village? Director didn't go to those areas. The film concludes when the Star meets barber.
The movie runs in dull mode until Rajni Kanth comes on to screen. Only then the tempo picks up. SP Balasubrahmanyam's dubbing to Rajni Kanth worked well. It sounds a bit new as people got accustomed to Mano's dubbing all these years.
To sum up, the film would certainly go into masses for 'Rajni Factor' in it. And it is the same Rajni factor that should keep box offices sounding. The subject is very good but director under-played to handle it in the way it should be. Things would have been better if proper care was taken in scene composition and tempo balance.
Rating: 2.75/5

Cast: Rajinikanth, Jagapathi Babu, Nayantara, Meena, Prabhu, Sunil, Brahmanandam, Dharmavarapu ,Duvvasi Mohan, Ali, MS, Vijay Kumar, Mamata Mohandas, Sona, Geetha, Tanikella, Suriya and others

KM Music Conservatory – Rahman’s Dream
The rise of AR Rahman, from the humble beginnings as a keyboard player “badly missing his education”, to that of an incredibly national institution himself sounds like a fairy tale. Yes. Truth is always stranger than fiction. Ever since the realization dawned on Rehman that – You’re working so hard, but still, in front of the people, you’re nothing – he began to sharpen his professional skills coupled with spiritual intuition.
After an arduous journey for more than two decades, Rahman has come to institutionalize his matchless vision. That is KM Music Conservatory - An International School of Music & Music Technology – set up at Kodambakkam in Chennai. With global admissions open from this month (July), the objective of the institute is to impart an education in music for the passionate seekers.
The faculty consists of expert faculty from Europe and America for the Western music departments, while stalwarts like Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan will lecture on the Hindustani Classical departments. Here’s Idlebrain’s brief insight into the phenomenon.
Herculean Task
Down the centuries, Indian music has passed through many a stage, still retaining its unique traditional entity. Monopoly of the few over years continues to persist. But, talent and drive are considered the primary qualifications of a budding musician. However, for a person who is serious about making music as a profession, it always remains a Herculean task. With all its hoary ancestral pride in music, this supreme of the fine arts still remains an unorganized (say not properly) segment. When you stir up the mind of any musician, he more speaks of individual gurus and his raw training from the scratch. Always the same story is heard everywhere.
Poor facilities dog Music Institutions
Though, music is forested as having academic value in a good number of Indian universities, its professional advancement is not encouraging. For instance, there were absolutely no takers (students) in the Music department of SV University for over a decade… for the sole reason that there was no encouragement. The faculty was forced to pass their time by doing all and sundry jobs like organizing extracurricular activities.
In many music colleges, mostly run by dharmic institutions, it always happens that students simply abandon their courses half way through… for the sole reason that there will be inadequate supply of instruments or absence of the concerned faculty. Private institutions are altogether a different case… being beyond the reach of the common career seeker with out and out commercial approach.
Art of Indian Music
Seen from the above perspective, Rahman’s KM Conservatory has certainly taken on a very tough task. Its avowed vision to give a facelift and sustenance to the art of Indian music deserves applause from all quarters of the elite and the layman as well. Projected as would-be deemed university in the making, its goals are formulated: Expansion of the horizon of Indian musicians by creating an awareness of Western and Music Technology with emphasis on the art of Indian music. This exercise comes as “redefining of contemporary music.” After all, AR Rahman is one and the only musician so far in the connotation of the modern music – to mix the terracotta between the South and North, besides conquering the realms of the West.
A Happy Beginning
Rahman’s decision not to market the music from the KM Conservatory speaks volumes about this hard-earned Music learning and wisdom. The mission sounds a promise to musician-aspirants; and that they can sprint from the filth of discrimination and lack of opportunities to a greener pasture of unending melody.
When you make business with an art form, particularly Music, it is a welcome sign that professional takes its roots. But, in the longer run, it only takes the form of formidable affectation. At a time when, India’s film music is drowned in suffocating holes of copying and unoriginality, KM Music Conservatory is bliss.

Vishal Talks About Nayan affair!!!
Handsome stud Vishal who is all set to hit the screens on the Independence Day with his movie 'Salute' shared his thoughts with the media after having a very low profile audio release of the bilingual which is also made in Tamil. The movie is directed by Rajasekhar and the music for the film has been composed by Harris Jayaraj. But more than the film, folks are interested to know what is cooking between Vishal and his co-star Nayan.
Speaking about the film, Vishal said that this is his seventh film but he has put an effort which is equal to the other six movies that he made. When the question of truth about Nayan was popped to him, he said in a rather plain face that there are many more burning issues right now such as the no confidence motion and the burning petrol prices than discuss his love life which is of no relevance.
However, he clarified that there is no romance between him and Nayan and mentioned that the intimate scenes that both of them were involved in one of the numbers was already told to Nayan when she signed the film. So it looks like the curtains are dropped when it comes to the Vishal-Nayan affair.
Kamal Hasan Enjoyed Dalit Get Up
It appears that the superstars of the south especially those in the Tamil industry have this rare penchant for going out amidst the public in disguises. This was done quite a few times by superstar Rajinikanth and interestingly, he has never been spotted or recognized until he revealed it himself.
Now, Kamal Haasan is another man who has been doing it from time to time, he loves to roam in disguise in public, he had roamed like that on Chennai roads in 'Bharateeyudu' get up long back and none could spot him. Now, it is heard that he roamed in the Punyakoti's get up in Chennai and yet again no one recognized him.
For those who are not sure, Punyakoti is the Dalit leader's role in Kamal's latest hit 'Dasavataram'. There is also a talk that is making rounds, it seems out of all 10 roles that Kamal did, he liked the Dalit leader's role personally.

Sudhakar Trying Again
The film industry has become one place where the competition is not just in the areas of hero and heroines, now the races have begun even in the other areas like comedy, item numbers and even fight masters. Prominent among them is the comedy area which forms the spine and soul for the success of a film.
Many talented comedians have come to the forum now but going a few years back there was one indomitable king of comedy, he was Sudhakar whose presence on the screen was enough to tickle your funny bones. Sudhakar also had the credit of pairing up with the entire heroes who are in the top rung of the industry. But eventually his fame started dipping and he also could not focus on his career for personal reasons and finally he was not to be seen anymore.
However, he has now made a comeback of sorts and soon he will be seen in a new film that marks the debut of a new hero and heroine. The film is slated to be a comedy entertainer and Sudhakar is hoping that he can make a thundering comeback with his wit and humor. Good luck for that Sudhakar!!!

Hot Priyamani Hitting Bollywood
Off late, there has been an increase in the number of southern beauties who are making a beeline to the big Bollywood not only out of initiative but also due to the invites they have been getting from the north. While those who have gone there like Shriya, Genelia, Asin have been making enough waves, yet another girl is joining the list.
She is none other than our very own Priyamani who believes in glamour to the maximum and this could well be a dream debut for her since she will be entering the Bollywood sector by doing a film with none other than the ace film maker Mani Ratnam. Now, there is more to it.
The dusky seductress has got a favorite actor in Bollywood in the form of Abhishek Bachchan who makes her skip a beat but now she has to pair up with Abhi in her first film which is making her a lot excited and also nervous about the whole thing. Good luck Priyamani!!!

'Kuselan' Not To Release In Karnataka
This might sound a bit unbelievable and strange but then this is happening, superstar Rajinikanth who is all set to arrive with his upcoming venture 'Kathanayakudu' is releasing the Tamil version 'Kuselan' in Karnataka. However, much to the surprise of many the local organization Karnataka Raksha Vedika (KRV) is now playing the devil as they are not willing to let the film be released.
Apparently, they recalled the Hogenekkal issue where Rajini had taken the side of Tamilnadu and not Karnataka during the water crisis and this has not been forgotten by the Kannadigas yet. It is heard that the posters of 'Kuselan' containing Rajini were set to fire and brought down in Bangalore.
If the movie is not released in Karnataka, then there will be a loss of Rs 1.5 crores to the producers so it remains to be seen what the makers and the superstar will do to wriggle out of the situation.
August 15th Going To Be Hot Day For Tollywood
While the eve of Independence is more of a happy occasion since you get to breathe free polluted air of our country, things will be taking a very crucial position when it comes to the film market since there are two biggies or possibly three hitting the screens on the special day and each of them have already established their own brand images.
There is going to be a major clash between 'Salute' which is starring Vishal and Nayantara in the lead and 'Baladoor' starring Ravi Teja and Anushka as the hero and heroine. While the former happens to be a full length cop flick action extravaganza, the latter happens to be a pure mass masala pot boiler with all the commercial elements required to make the film a success.
To top it all, there is also news coming in that they might find a giant in their race in the form of 'Kathanayakudu' starring superstar Rajinikanth which has been postponed to the 15th next month. The saving grace is the news that the makers are trying to get it to 8th. If that does not happen, then there is every chance that the two films will be swept by the Rajini mania.

Shruti Hassan's Split With Sarika???
She has the blood of acting inside her and for now she is known as the daughter of the legendary Kamal Haasan. We are talking about the pretty and stylish Shruti Haasan who is known to be a very talented singer and now she is all set to make her mark as an actress too. However, her personal life has been in a fix of sorts, thanks to the two women that Kamal has in her life.
Apparently, there is news making rounds that Shruti who is the daughter of Kamal's former wife Sarika is said to be in a boycott mode and has been neglecting her mother since quite a while. Her preference to Kamal's new partner Gouthami has hurt Sarika who has decided to call it quits with her daughter, so much so that she had refused to come to the Hard Rock café to listen to Shruti's singing.
To add salt to the wounds, it is also being said that Gouthami has been playing a major role in Shruti's career and this has hit the final nail in the head of Sarika who did not expect her daughter to go completely towards the other side.

EVV Frightened With Manda Krishna
If you think that the general public are the only ones who are afraid of politicians then you might have to change your thoughts since the list now includes the powerful film makers too who are not being spared by the leaders especially of the community based parties. The real nightmare for all film folks these days is Manda Krishna Madiga.
It is known that Manda Krishna said that EVV and K Raghavendra Rao are making films with vulgarity on heroines and questioned if their family members will be dressed that way and treated how will they feel? Off late the film folk have been the target of this leader and he has already given a tough time to the makers of films like 'Kantri' and 'Gorintaku'.
It is now heard that EVV has gone silent and sources close to him say that he is getting afraid to show skin of heroines on screen in his subsequent films. Meanwhile, the reaction from KRR who has shot to fame with the sole skill of capturing woman beauty on screen is yet to be known.
Devotional songs on Dhoni a hit in Bihar
PATNA: What is the relation between cricket and bhajan? Mahendra Singh Dhoni! Tired of trying to net the cricketer himself, young girls in Bihar are now praying to Lord Shiva to grant husbands like him.
Temples are echoing with the Bhojpuri song, Set kara di life he Baba Dhoni sangh hamaar ho . (Lord Shiva, please set our lives with Dhoni or men like him). With the Hindi month of Shrawan on, the recently-released album, Baba ke nagariya bada pawan lage la , (Lord Shiva's abode is sacred to us) has become a favourite for girls in Bihar. Unmarried girls throng Shiva temples during the month to seek suitable husbands.
Humming the song while coming out of a city temple, Shruti, a young devotee said, ''Any sensible girl would love to have a husband like Dhoni.''
Dipali, another devotee, said, ''With Dhoni moving around with a posse of female guards these days, girls like us have stopped thinking of him and instead started praying for a life partner having similar qualities.''
Singer Saloni, who has lent her voice to the song, said, ''The idea of a devotional song featuring Dhoni struck a few months ago. We decided to release the song before Shrawan which is the time girls come to Shiva temples praying for a suitable life partner.''

Ileana Dropped Out From Rajni Kanth's Film
We already know that Ileana has got a chance to act in Rajni Kanth's animated film 'Sultan-The Warrior'. But she dropped out from that. Although it is an animated film, Ileana as got some role to play by herself. The reason for Ileana's drop-out is attributed to pay pack. In general she gets Rs 1.25 Cr per film as per present market standards. But 'Sultan-The Warrior' team refused to pay even half of that. They expected that Ileana would certainly agree for few bucks as she is getting chance to pair up with Rajni Kanth. But things didn't work that way with her.
Review - Mission Istanbul
This Mission is a Turkey
Rating - 1.75/5 - MISSION ISTANBUL: A SUPERDUPER WORST & CRAP MOVIE
Sometimes, one goes into a movie screening with absolutely no expectations and finds oneself pleasantly surprised to discover that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. In the case of Mission Istanbul [Images] even my low expectations remain unmet.
Let's recap. Zayed Khan plays Vikas Sagar, a leading Indian television journalist, who has just accepted a three-month familiarization assignment with Al-Johara (way to make the association without actually taking the name guys), a controversial news channel that wants to set up shop in India. His divorce goes through with Anjali (Shriya Saran) just in time for him to take up his new job without attachments or obligations. The official press release refers to a painful divorce but that pain is never really in evidence on screen.
In Istanbul, he is driven to the office of Ghazni (Nikitan Dheer), the man who runs Al-Johara, by Owais Husain (Suniel Shetty), a warrior-turned-war correspondent so that they can exchange CVs and the audience may see how cool these big screen journalists are.
Interestingly, the network boss takes his first meeting with Sagar in a tuxedo and then changes clothes for the nightclub scene that follows immediately after. I understand there was a clothing sponsor on this film but really, was that necessary? At the nightclub, Sagar also meets Liza Lobo (Shweta Bhardwaj), a femme fatale whose face twitches when it shouldn't and remains expressionless during dramatic sequences.
Needless to say, things happen. People are killed and Rizwan Khan (Vivek Oberoi), a Turkish 'commando,' pops up into Sagar's life to inform him that his life is in danger. Khan also tells him that he needs to access the thirteenth floor of the Al-Johara building to know the truth about Ghazni's 'Wall of Martyrs' and his organisation. And that's all the 'plot' I feel like sharing for the purpose of this review.
If memory serves, this is the movie that was offered to director Apoorva Lakhia, with the accompanying fat pay cheque, after the success of Shootout At Lokhandwala [Images]. It was not money well spent. In every single way that the director could make a bad choice in a sequence -- be it action or dramatic or (heaven help us) comedic -- Lakhia makes it in Mission.
Uncomfortably unfunny sequences linger on for seeming eternities while chase and action sequences are cut together so haphazardly that future generations of film students could write several inconclusive theses about why anyone would keep backing their escape vehicle into a van they've already got past instead of continuing on said escape.
Both the male leads don't seem to understand what it takes to get audiences to suspend disbelief while watching a thriller. Oberoi opts for a knowing smirk while Khan looks like he's barely able to control his steroid rage. No opportunity to overact is missed by either of them.
The antagonists Shabir Ahluwalia and Nikitin Dheer are no better. Aforementioned wardrobe choices notwithstanding, there is little else to write home about either of their performances. And the ladies? Shriya Saran constantly looks like she's straining to remember her lines (or she's smelt something unpleasant) while Shweta Bhardwaj's simpering appears better suited for ads in the back pages of certain lad magazines than it does for the big screen.
Sequences, set pieces and plot devices are liberally sourced from such Hollywood fare as Enemy Of The State, The Siege, The Matrix, Swordfish and the Hong Kong actioner Infernal Affairs. The rest apparently came from the fertile imaginations of the director and writer Suresh Nair. One of which would be the blatant product and tagline placement for a fizzy drink done so horribly badly that I, for one, am never going to be able to pick up a can of the stuff again.
The film could have made interesting points about the economics of terror, the commoditisation of news and its sensationalised packaging as entertainment. It also alludes to various vested Western interests in keeping the region in conflict but takes that thread nowhere. In the final analysis, all the hints and allegations and things left unsaid cannot distract from the fact that as a piece of entertainment, or education, this mission is a failure.
In the US, the major movie studios sometimes adopt a practice of not screening for the press, certain movies that they are certain will garner bad reviews. Most often, this practice is adopted for genre films, specifically horror, which have built-in audiences and are therefore considered critic-proof. Tellingly, Mission Istanbul was not screened for the press. In that way at least, the filmmakers seem to have managed to become international.

Srija-Sirish Inspired Many Film Makers
When it comes to love, nothing comes in between the hearts of the pair and not even family and loved ones can do something about it. If things go extreme, then the trump card all lovers have is the elopement policy which has been a strong inspiration from the reel life and making a strong presence in the real life.
It has been noticed that off late there is an increasing trend in the number of movies which revolve around this eloping concept. After Srija-Sirish episode, elopement themes are becoming popular on silver screen and 'Parugu' is best example for that, now 'Lechipodaama' is another flick with Kanmani as director which directly indicates that it is a strong movie which could be showing this concept on a positive note.
When it comes to film making and the entertainment industry, it is the concept of eloping that has found a real preference by the audience, especially the youth. While it is right or wrong is left for debate and situation whether it is true or false, the theme might well be received with some mixed response.
After Yoga, its Vodka for Shilpa Shetty!
‘Yoga Guru’ Shilpa Shetty is going everywhere - be it fitness tasks, promotions, perfume launch and even to a vodka launch. So what, if Shilpa has been a little off-beat and is not doing movies, she still has the paparazzi following her everywhere. ‘Miss Bollywood’ Shilpa Shetty remains an eye-candy for media more for her personal life than for her films.
Apart from promoting a healthy lifestyle through yoga, Shilpa was recently in New Delhi to launch Romanov Red Vodka. She had a tough time explaining the contradiction between healthy living and drinking.
Well, Shilpa certainly did manage to throw a little piece of advice for all while she endorsed a liquor brand: “Please do not mix drinking and driving, drive safe!”

Young Boys Adoring Hot Married Lady
Call it attraction or the law of nature but then it is a known and understood phenomenon where young men have a penchant for ladies higher than their age. And when they do come across such divas, nothing stops them from going to the farthest mile to win the heart of the lady. One such person who is ruling the roost these days is Sailaja Reddy, the daughter of Late Prabhakar Reddy, the actor.
Apparently, Sailaja the fashion designer is said to be having a great youth following and now she is planning to direct a film shortly. For this, she is on the lookout for an able producer. Meanwhile, it is said that some young heroes are showing interest to work with her. But Sailaja is decent enough to keep the guys at bay and distance. She is gifted with many virtues and can be called 'beauty with brain', say folks.
Sailaja is about 40 now but then looks just 25. She is a regular on the page 3 column. With such a profile and stunning looks, it will not be difficult for her to find a producer and make her dreams of becoming a director true.

***Chiranjeevi is not Name- It's A 'Mantra'
There was a time when the name of Megastar Chiranjeevi used to make the movie buffs go into frenzy and his poise, dance and dialogues are still relished with great interest by many. However, with the changing times and tunes, the fame of Chiru has now spread to the households of Andhra Pradesh, thanks to the decision he has made on his political entry.
Many magazines are surviving by publishing Chiranjeevi's picture on cover page. There are evidences that magazines picked up sales for that week with Chiru on cover page. So much is the Chiranjeevi effect that a prominent restaurant 'Chutneys' in Hyderabad has got a Dosa on Chiru's name which sells like hot cakes. Also, whenever families and friends catch up, the name of Chiru gets everyone's attention now and debates and discussions are on for hours together on his issue. In fact, if people are discussing about themselves on various topics, and the word 'Chiranjeevi' is uttered by someone, the group goes silent and turns heads on to that person. Then the topic continues only on Chiranjeevi.
With the way things are going, there is a feeling that has been expressed by many that Chiranjeevi is not a name anymore but is more like a mantra since almost every one in the Telugu land is taking his name for some reason or the other.
But we have to see if the phenomenon continues even after Chiru announces party.

Heroine Loves Hot-Gossips - Namita
Gossips or gossip mongers are two things that the stars of the industry will hate talking to or even knowing them. Given the fact that they come out with the most unthinkable controversies, gossips though creative can sometimes lead to some really fatal consequences.
But here is something that will make them feel good. The hot Kollywood sex bomb Namita loves reading gossips it seems. She said 'they sound naughty' and also added that she likes creative gossips those appear to be true than nasty and vulgar ones.
While this can be taken as a compliment for all those gossip makers who will work with more energy now, the question remains whether this information is a fact or is it just another output of a possible gossip that was making rounds in the industry.
Nayan Vs Trisha – The Big Cats Fight!!!
Romance and friendship are two things that flow like water on rocks in the film industry without a meaning and direction. and the famous saying of the wise men 'No Two girls can be friends' seems to hold good too if you read the following article.
The two hot stars Nayantara and Trisha were once the thickest of pals and talk about actresses partying and both of them would pop up unable to let go of each other. Today, they are sworn enemies and don't even see eye to eye with each other and when the cause for this is dug, it is discovered that the silly element of jealousy and backbiting have yet again put an end to a nice friendship.
There was a time when both Trisha and Nayan had a common foe in the form of Asin who was ruling the roost in Kollywood and in no time the two became one and before they could strike upon the Malayalam beauty, she packed her bags and went to Bollywood to chase the more colorful Mumbai dream. With Asin gone, both Trisha and Nayan got going very well but then as is typical with girls natures this did not last for long.
The seed of evil was planted when the leading lady of the film 'Kuruvi' was being finalized and when it was almost confirmed that Trisha was the chosen one she was in for a shock when Nayan gave a statement that she has been signed up, in no time the petite beauty was on her feet and ensured that she got it back. Trisha was not too pleased with the fact that Nayan was getting cosy with a leading hero in the industry which looked like a threat to her chances on the top slot. Meanwhile, Nayan gave a thunder shock as she came out like a bolt in the blue with her 'Bikini' act and that hit the nail on Trisha's head. In no time, Nayan was the queen that everyone desired and she called the shots. On the other hand, Nayan started getting whiffs that Trisha has been grouping all her enemies together to displace her from the numero uno position. Though the Kuruvi issue was resolved between the two was resolved by common friends, the seeds of jealousy ruled and the distance started increasing. When Nayan was said to be ridiculed for her poor quality of acting she went on to do a remake in Tamil which was a hit in Telugu with Trisha in the lead and it turned out to be a much better hit. However, Nayan could not float for long when she was dropped unceremoniously as the brand Ambassador of the Chennai Superkings without any intimation. It is a very strong feeling that this was an act of Trisha and things got bitterer between the two.
Today, when they chance upon each other they look through each other and wherever Trisha is, Nayan is not around and vice versa. When asked about their relation, Nayan says that she is neutral towards Trisha and it is due to common friends that they met that's all and nothing more. Trisha from her end says that Nayan was just a part of the group and she is definitely not her type.
So that's the story of the battle of the cats and the tussle will be on till one of them either moves on to a different league or hangs up her shoes. Only time will tell.

Story, Screenplay, Direction: Karunakaran
Release Date: 25th July 2008
It's like 'Toliprema' retold in less effective way to say in single line. The love track between a decent heroine and a go-easy guy is dealt in Karunakaran's style here.
Story
A light hearted romance, the film begins with the story of a boy Balaji and a girl Dhanalakshmi (Sneha) who grow up as kids and Balaji is ready to do anything and everything to see a smile on Dhana's face. Soon, the kids grow but then Balaji leaves as his father gets transferred. However, Dhana is unable to forget him and despite the passing of 15 years she still longs for him since she gets letters from Balaji and though Dhana's aunt (Kavitha) who is eyeing her property does not like it, her feelings for him is strong which makes her run away from home and reach the city.
In comes Aravind (Yasho Sagar) a cheerful, fun loving happy go lucky who is not much into responsibilities and a carefree kind of guy. He meets Dhana accidentally and falls in love with her at first sight and despite her not liking his company, he keeps chasing her all the time. But Dhana reveals that she loves Balaji. What happens then has to be watched on screen.
Performance
Yasho Sagar by no means was able to deliver a quality performance. He lacked strength in expressions and went blank in emotional scenes; to add to the woes was his frequent guffaw which was more of an annoyance than anything. It will take some real good grilling for him if he is looking at becoming a hero.
Sneha Ullal was a true vision of natural beauty and she did resemble Aishwarya Rai in few frames, though her acting needed a bit of touch-up here and there, she has enough attraction and charm in her to take things forward and two or more films down the line she will strike it big.
The comedy scenes involving Venumadhav imitating Rajini, Sunil, Brahmanandam managed to extract few laughs and it was the sequences with Suman Shetty and gang that scored better in the comedy department. The senior cast of Chandramohan, Sudha, Kavitha, L B Sriram carried out their roles with required standard. Sudha appeared to have suffering from some dental problem. She delivered some dialogues with a hissing sound in first half.
Sunil is one bundle of talent who could have been used in a much effective way. Dharmavarapu came and went with extracting three smiles in total. The director has come out with a thin plot and it appears that few bits have been inspired from movies like 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' 'Namastey London' where the hero is all out to make his loved one happy at the expense of his sadness. However, the touches of 'Tholi Prema' were seen strongly. The presentation was nice but the narration lost out on points, editing was crisp, music was top notch, camera was superb but the script was weak and lacked depth on the lead pair.
Analysis
The structure of the narration resembles 'Toli Prema'-a careless hero with an irresponsible friends-gang falls in love with a decent girl who holds a goal. While the heroine in Toliprema holds the goal to go Harvard School for research, here in this film the goal of heroine is to meet her childhood boy friend. In the process heroine knows the sensitive feelings in the heart of hero and unites with him in the climax. Yes, that's purely the story of Toliprema. The difference is that the director tried to narrate it in different way, choosing a lighter tone.
On a whole it can be stated that either the emotional depth or the complete lighter swing aren't seen on screen. And above all, Karunakaran made a mistake by bringing Yasho Sagar on to floors without giving him proper training in acting. The film runs on the shoulders of hero. And here hero proved amateur and failed in delivering many expressions. He is not an actor yet. He has to get trained a lot.
First half and second half run in similar tone with a mixture of lighter moments and serious heart-factors.
The plus point in the film is heroine. She has bright future on Tollywood screen if she improves her acting skills and chooses right subjects and appropriate roles. She is looking as a mixture of Aishwarya Rai and Renu Desai.
The film-wise it's good. And presentation is fair. But the choice of main lead spoiled the show.
